PracticalTech

Ready to turn technology into practical leverage?

We help teams cut through the noise, clarify what drives results, and build maintainable systems that reduce waste and increase capacity.

What's holding you back?

You may already be paying for technology—in wasted hours, stalled projects, and tools that don't deliver. Here's what that looks like:

Everything Takes Too Long

Repetitive tasks, duplicated entry, and manual status updates. Technology should help, but multi-step workflows often run on workarounds, adding friction and draining your operational capacity.

Too Many Options, No Clear Path

Options feel overwhelming or risky. You've invested in the wrong things before, suffering from change fatigue. You need a reliable source of truth and end-to-end clarity before layering on more technology.

Your Knowledge Is Scattered

Your best thinking, ideas, and decisions live in too many places. Retrieval is slow and inconsistent. Each project feels like starting over, and as you delegate, your team's output drifts from your original voice.

We cut through the noise to clarify where tech creates leverage.

How We Work Together

It starts with a conversation.

You bring your questions. We talk through what's working, what's not, and what you're trying to accomplish.

Whether you are an Expertise-Driven Thought Leader looking to make your ideas instantly retrievable and reusable, or an Operator trying to reduce admin time and create a reliable source of truth, we use the same vendor-neutral, outcome-backwards method:

Clarity Session

A focused diagnostic working session to define your desired end result, surface constraints, and set a prioritized path.

Foundation Engagement

We design a streamlined system—mapping your current reality, creating shared definitions and ownership, and building a maintainable solution.

Clarity Stewardship

Ongoing monthly tuning, governance, and drift prevention so your new systems actually stick as your business evolves.

You'll walk away with:

  • A situation summary and prioritized next steps
  • Real options with practical tradeoffs—not just "best practices" or tool education
  • A streamlined system your people can actually run
  • Diagrams mapping your current reality to your future workflows

About Me

Hi, I'm Carolyn Delaney. I've spent decades connecting business needs to technical solutions across manufacturing, finance, health insurance, and call centers—teaching myself whatever technology each industry required, from Cobol and Visual Basic to JavaScript and SQL Server to Airtable, and hundreds of others.

Here's what I've learned: technology should do what computers do best so humans can do what computers can't. The specific tool doesn't matter—what matters is how well it supports your people, your purpose, and your progress.

At PracticalTech, we help you cut through technical noise, get clear on what drives results, and leverage it to grow your business. We act as the bridge between human clarity and digital scale.

No geek speak. No replacing human connection with automation.

My simple rule: If it needs a human touch, keep the human. If it doesn't, let technology carry it.

Helping people understand what technology can actually do for them? That's my happy place.

A fun fact: I was the first female in my 6th grade chess club (and took home the trophy that year) :)

How to get started

Begin with a simple 15-minute chat. No pitch. Just a chance to talk through where you are and what support might be useful.
